73% of women in Kaduna Believes it’s okay for a man to beat them — Nasir El-Rufai

The Nigerian Chief of Staff, Muhammad Abdullahi has revealed the current situation of marriages and well-being in Birnin Gwari Local Government Area of Kaduna State.

 

 

 

 

Chief of Staff to Gov. Nasir El-Rufai of Kaduna State, Muhammad Abdullahi has revealed that 73 percent of women in Birnin Gwari Local Government Area of Kaduna State said that it was okay for a man to beat a woman.

The Chief of Staff publicized this on the official launch of the 2021 State of the World Population Report by the United Nations Population Fund, in collaboration with the Planning and Budget Commission (PBC) in Kaduna.

 

 

 

 

Saying further, the chief of staff said the disturbing statistics were based on the current General Households Survey conducted by the state Bureau of Statistics, and currently being validated by relevant stakeholders.

He later added that the statistics called for great concern and that the Kaduna Government would look into it.
